WOW WHAT A YEAR!!
Steel Storage has had one of the busiest years on record with much of our business dedicated to new builds and expansion/modernisation of existing facilities creating modern hi-tech businesses.
With the completion of a number of “Top Up” projects, where we have used our engineering and town planning expertise along with our extensive building knowledge to build over existing storage structures with minimal disruption to existing customers, we have been able to bring new life into older style facilities whilst nearly doubling the net lettable without the need for additional land acquisition.
The new “Drop Down” mobile self storage unit has been a great success also. The new product allows for full utilisation and income potential of existing easements and previous 'no go' areas where permanent structures could not be built. We have 'drop down' units going into power line easements, access easements, sewer easements, areas where future access to later stages is required or just areas where new and existing operators are 'testing the water' with the comfortable feeling that if all else fails they can on-sell the units - but we all know this will probably never happen.
It seems to have been the year for new products. Following the launch of the “Streamline” partitioning system at last years conference we have new customers extremely happy with the improved partitioning system. The new click together system will not only save you money when it comes to cleaning and maintaining your units, but significantly improves the appearance of your new units and corridors as well as incorporating many new safety features.
There has also been a big demand for the Steel Storage “Modular Locker System” which allows the self storage operator to utilise smaller areas as well as cater to a range of specialised storage options - such as temperature controlled areas for storing wine and other valuable products.
Our proprietary “Mezzanine Floor” system, as always, has been one of our major selling products with ongoing research and development looking into new and innovative improvements - watch this space!

NEW MEMBERS TO OUR TEAM
In September, David Friend joined our team as a Project Manager. David is a carpenter by trade and has worked in various supervisor and project management roles. David is enjoying being part of our projects team with David, David…and Mel.
In December, Sophreen Singh joined Steel Storage as our Financial Accountant. Sophreen comes from Pioneer Road Services and is looking forward to working with the Kumars (at No 42) – Pradip (Commercial Manager) and Raj (Cost Accountant).
